Antwerp
During eighteen centuries Antwerp grew as chaotically as other places. Buildings went up, were demolished and rebuilt. In the nineteenth century the old middle age centre of the city was given an unrecognizable face lift. Your guide will take you through the renovated area. Strolling through twisting streets, you will see how the tiny town grew into a sixteenth century world metropolis. A meat house, called the ‘’Vleeshuis’, the town hall and the richly glided houses show how the city prospered and grew. You walk past gothic and modern building. The varied architecture shows the changing historic styles of the city. A highlight of you trip is a visit to the ‘’Onze Lieve Vrouwe’ cathedral. Next we stop for lunch and there will be free time available for shopping.
